From a 3D scan to a precise 2D pattern
for
WrapForge flattens a scanned part into a pattern ready for cutting or print. Design the artwork directly on the model and see the material strain before you cut.
Windows 10/11 · 64-bit · download coming soonThe scan unfolds
into a pattern
This is exactly what WrapForge does: from the scanned shape it computes flat parts that fit back onto the surface once applied.
Fibre direction
for composites and tailors
With carbon, glass or fabric a precise pattern is not enough. It also matters how each piece sits on the roll. WrapForge keeps every piece at a fixed angle to the material edge, shows the fibre direction on the 3D model before you cut, and at the seams you see right away how the weave meets.
One tool, many trades
Flattening a pattern is the same task whether the material is film, leather or technical textile.
Wraps, PPF and printed film
Car wrap and paint-protection patterns with artwork designed directly on the vehicle model.
Upholstery and interiors
Seat, cover and interior-part patterns from a scan — no paper templates.
Tarps and awnings
Accurate flattening of large surfaces, nesting onto a material roll and export straight to cutting.
Composites
Carbon and fibreglass reinforcement patterns for moulded forms — with fibre distortion checked on the strain map.
Helmets and sports gear
Wrapping moulded shells with continuous artwork — exactly like the helmet in the showcase below.
Signmaking
Wrapping 3D objects and shaped surfaces with printed artwork and a cutting contour in a single PDF.
From a helmet to a whole car
Every image here is direct output from WrapForge — from artwork design to finished parts.
A helmet, a bumper and a whole car in one tool: scan, flattening, artwork right on the model and the cutting plan. 28 seconds, no sound.
Artwork directly on the parts
Design the print on the 3D model — the image is projected onto the parts so the pattern continues across the seams of neighbouring parts.
- Layered images with transparency, mirroring and millimetre-precise placement.
- Live 3D preview: move the artwork and instantly see how the finished part will look.
- Bleed along cutting edges — the print overshoots the contour, so cutting leaves no white edges.
From a helmet to a whole car
The same workflow scales from a small part to an entire car body — you see the wrap design on the real shape before anything gets printed.
- Design on the real shape: judge the artwork on the 3D model, not on a flat preview.
- Show the customer — rotate the model and present the wrap from every angle before production.
- From design straight to production: the same data produces both the patterns and the print-ready PDF.
See the material strain in advance
A colour map shows where the film will stretch and where excess will build up — on the flattened pattern and directly on the 3D model. On the helmet you can see the result of well-chosen cuts: the strain stays close to zero.
- Decide before you cut: fix a problem area with a different cut, not with wasted film.
- Material-aware correction — the pattern adapts to the tensile properties of your film.
- Targeted tension along the application direction with the pre-tension tool.
Auto-nesting: from parts straight to the sheet
A complete set of parts — here a full-car PPF kit — is nested onto the sheet automatically. You set the roll width, the gap between parts and the sheet length (or one continuous strip) — the program does the rest. In the image the kit did not fit on one sheet, so it continues on a second one below.
- Minimal film consumption: parts rotate freely and the engine searches for the shortest possible cut off the roll.
- Multiple sheets stacked below each other: whatever does not fit the chosen length continues on the next sheet — final moves and swaps between sheets shorten the last piece further.
- Parts are never flipped — with film it matters which side is adhesive; mirrored parts stay mirrored.
- A result typically within a minute: the computation runs in parallel on several CPU cores and stops once the layout stops improving. Large kits spanning several sheets take longer — but the run is always time-bounded.
- The finished sheet goes straight to production — print-ready 1:1 PDF (CMYK and sRGB ICC profiles, ThroughCut/CutContour spot colours) or DXF/SVG for the plotter.

From a raw scan to a plotter-ready file — without hopping between tools.
Scan editing station
Selections, mesh repair, hole filling, alignment, best fit, curve cutting. Smooth work even with raw scans of millions of triangles.
Proven flattening
Surface flattening with material-aware correction. Accuracy verified on real body panels against an industry reference tool.
Strain map in 2D and 3D
See where the film stretches and where excess builds up — on the pattern and directly on the 3D model. Decide before you cut.
Materials and pre-tension (Spring)
Pattern correction based on the tensile properties of film from the material library — save your own materials — plus a tool for targeted tension along the application direction.
Auto-nesting
Automatic placement of parts on a fixed-length sheet — several strips stacked below each other, with a final optimisation pass that moves parts between strips.
Export to production
DXF and SVG for cutting plotters, print-ready 1:1 PDF with nine CMYK profiles (FOGRA, GRACoL, SWOP, ISO coated…) and five RGB (sRGB, Adobe RGB…) with spot colours (ThroughCut/CutContour), IGES curves for CAD.
